More Fun in More Places

2011 promises to be another busy and exciting year for Ripley Entertainment Inc. with a brand new Believe It or Not! odditorium opening in Jeju Island, Korea, a new Ripley’s Marvelous Mirror Maze and Candy Factory opening in Myrtle Beach, SC, and an exciting new temporary exhibit “Sharks” at the Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach. Major renovations to Believe It or Not! attractions are planned for Orlando and Hollywood, as well as significant lobby and gallery renovations in several other locations. In addition, a brand new con-cept is under development for the Guinness World Records museum chain, and new aquariums are being planned, including a new state of the art, world class aquarium in Toronto, Canada.

The company’s two existing aquariums, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, in the Tennessee resort town of Gatlinburg, and Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina are celebrations of the world’s rarest, most beautiful and awesome sea life. In each location an underwater acrylic tunnel takes visitors through a million gallons of water on a 320 foot moving glide-path to view moray eels, sawfish, stingrays and giant sharks. Both locations boast more than a million visitors a year, are consistently ranked in the Top Ten Aquariums in North America by “TripAdvisor.com”, and are repeat winners of prestigious local and state awards. In 2010 Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies added a new $5 million dollar exhibit – Ripley’s Penguin Playhouse, our first-indoor-outdoor display – complete with crawl-through acrylic tunnels and pop-ups that bring our guests nose to nose with our penguins.
