October 30, 2017 – Toronto, Ont.) Several Save-On-Foods store teams received special recognition at the 2017 Grocery Innovations Canada Conference in Toronto – Canada’s premier grocery and specialty food show.
The team from Save-On-Foods Heritage in Calgary was named Grocer of the Year in the large surface category. Former Heritage store manager Alan Kaarsemaker (who now manages Save-On-Foods Whitehorse) accepted the award on the team’s behalf. This coveted award recognizes the success of outstanding store managers and their teams who are evaluated on retail excellence and innovation, team performance, customer service, space utilization, freshness and cleanliness.
Congratulations also to Doug Ford and the store team at Save-On-Foods Fleetwood who were awarded the B.C.-Yukon Regional award in the large surface category. Save-On-Foods Fleetwood was also recognized with a Grocer of the Year Award of Merit.
The team at Save-On-Foods Tillicum was awarded the Canadian Master Merchandiser 2017 Award of Merit for Single Manufacturer Display. Store manager, Roger Junker, accepted the award on his team’s behalf.
