Overwaitea Food Group stores are being recognized for their support of their communities around B.C. and Alberta.

Part of the company’s vision is to be a good neighbour and support its communities – whether that’s donating to local charities and food banks, holding fundraisers, hosting community events or helping in times of crisis.

Since late October, the following stores have been recognized in their communities:

• Overwaitea Foods Creston – 2015 Inclusive Employer of the Year award, presented by Kootenay Employment Services and the Creston Valley Rotary Club
• Cooper’s Foods Valleyview (Kamloops) – Business Excellence Award for retail in the 11+ staff category, presented by the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce
• Save-On-Foods New Westminster (three stores) – Favourite Grocery Store in Town, New Westminster Record readers’ choice award
• Save-On-Foods Edmonton and area (19 stores) – Favourite Grocery Store, Edmonton Journal readers’ choice award
• Save-On-Foods Surrey and North Delta (four stores) – Best Grocery Store, Surrey/North Delta Leader readers’ choice award
• Save-On-Foods West Kelowna – Large Business of the Year, Key Business Award, Greater Westside Board of Trade
• Save-On-Foods Squamish – Best Customer Service, Squamish Chief readers’ choice award
