Introduction

Genpak is a leading manufacturer of foodservice disposables in North America with headquarters in Glens Falls, NY and 16 state-of-the-art manufacturing plants in the US and Canada, which provide a wide range of rigid and flexible products in the single-service packaging segment of the foodservice industry.

Genpak’s various product lines include take-out containers, dinnerware, trays, cups, bowls, deli containers, bags and laminated films. They are used by supermarkets, discount stores, consumers, restaurant chains along with paper and foodservice distributors and processors in the US and Canada.

Continued Growth in Challenging Times

During 2008, Genpak continued to improve its equipment and processes. It relocated their polypropylene production equipment to a new larger plant in Charlotte, NC. It also installed expansion equipment in Columbus, OH; Laval, QC; Hope Hull, AL; and Sebring, FL. Research & Development and Quality Control groups were consolidated in updated facilities in Charlotte, NC.

It was a challenging year with energy-related costs soaring to record levels only to fall rapidly in the last few months of the year. The economy along with the foodservice business slowed, but during it all, the Company’s sales force did a tremendous job in strengthening relationships with its customers that will benefit Genpak in 2009 and beyond.

With a long-standing reputation for superior service and quality, along with product innovation, Genpak remains the supplier of choice for many of the major restaurant chains and major food and paper distributors in North America.

The Company enters 2009 with a tremendous team of employees, customers, suppliers and assets. Despite the tough business climate, the Company is extremely well-situated to succeed and grow in the coming year.
