Genpak Quality Control 01 A key to Genpak’s success is the quality of its products. Its Quality Control teams perform detailed inspections of all products to ensure they meet Genpak’s high standards.

Genpak is the premiere manufacturer of single-service disposable packages in the North American marketplace. From its beginning in 1969 in Middletown, New York, it has grown to include nineteen state-of-the-art manufacturing sites in the United States and Canada. Headquartered in Glens Falls, New York, Genpak provides a wide range of rigid and flexible products to the food service, processor and consumer marketplaces.

Genpak’s broad product lines include: take-out containers in many shapes and sizes; a complete line of dinnerware in multiple materials and colors; bags and laminate film; trays, cups, bowls, deli containers and various ‘green’ products. These packages are used by supermarkets, restaurant chains, drug and discount stores, consumers, and paper and food service distributors and processors in the United States and Canada.

It produces numerous food container and packaging lines from plastic, foam, compostable and biodegradable materials. While Genpak is best known for its clear hinged and foam hinged containers, it also has extensive lines of drinking cups and serving bowls.

2013 saw the continuation of Genpak’s equipment purchases as well as modernizations and expansions. Additional state-of-the-art printing equipment was added to its cup plant in Cedar City, Utah, while new solid sheet extrusion and thermoforming equipment went into the newly refurbished building next door. Cedar City also saw the startup of new lid equipment which was running at full capacity by year’s end.

Expansions did not only take place in Genpak’s west coast facilities. The Charlotte, North Carolina complex saw a great deal of growth during the year as extrusion and forming equipment was added in the solid sheet plant in addition to a new paper bag plant. This plant was updated with new bag making equipment, printers and automation to allow entry into this new product line. The Brampton, Ontario facility also saw major automation improvements.

Genpak continued to expand its offering of ‘green’ products with the addition of more fiber-based products in both the food service and consumer markets, along with new mineral-filled, microwaveable hinged products and recycled content paper bags.

With a longstanding reputation for superior quality, Genpak remains the supplier of choice for many of the major restaurant chains and large food and paper distributors in the United States and Canada. Genpak enters 2014 with a tremendous team of employees, a diverse customer base, and world-class manufacturing facilities.
