Radio Stations

Our radio division continues to rock ‘n roll with more competition, new licenses and a focus to expand this side of our broadcast business. In mid-June 2008, big news for our Group was receiving CRTC approval for a new FM licence in Vancouver to replace our existing CKBD AM. On November 13th, at a gala launch and reception, we signed on our 28th FM station and Canada’s first true AAA (Adult Album Alternative) World Class Rock format. CKPK FM, better known as 100.5 The Peak, made history that night and has made an instant positive impact on the Vancouver radio market. This huge project from applying for the licence, building the application, appearing at a hearing to receiving approval was all about TTI, Total Team Involvement. With the successful launch of The Peak, our group ended its long time association with AM radio in Canada when CKBD AM went silent on December 31st. History has been made again, with all of our radio stations now on the FM band . . . a first in Canada!
