Overwaitea Food Group’s Annual Wow of the Year Awarded
Overwaitea Food Group (OFG) presents the annual Wow of the Year award to a team member who consistently exhibits the attitude and actions that exemplify world-class customer first service. The 2009 winner was announced on January 29, 2010.
This year’s winners, Randall Bamford, Store Manager of Overwaitea Foods Salmon Arm and Shannon Pahl, Operations Manager of Save-On-Foods Pinetree received a rave review for the outstanding customer experience they provided. Their customer, who contacted the stores in search of a favourite product, was amazed at how quickly and professionally his needs were met. Although Randall’s store did not stock the product, he went out of his way to find a store that did – a Lower Mainland Save-On-Foods store where Shannon was working. Shannon located the product and then promptly called the customer to let him know she would hold it for him. The customer gratefully thanked Shannon for her help and promised to pick up the product as soon as possible. After a quick, friendly chat, it became apparent that on her way home from work, Shannon travels by the store closest to where the customer lives, so she kindly offered to save him some time – by dropping the item off.
In the end, not only did the pair accommodate the customer’s requests but they went a step further and added friendly, helpful service to the mix. Despite the fact that these team members work in different stores, in different parts of the province, they came together to deliver a WOW experience.
