February 3, 2010

Kelowna, you told us you wanted a fresh, new, exciting radio station playing “your taste” in music. We’ve listened to you and have responded with the all new CKQQ FM, “Q103.1 – It’s All About The Music”.

Wednesday, February 3rd, at 5:00 PM Q103.1 debuted Kelowna’s awesome mix of Hot Adult Contemporary music designed for women in the Okanagan Valley. Guys will like it too!

At Q 103.1 It’s All About The Music... and the music is great!! Signature artists include Madonna, Nelly Furtado, John Mayer, Taylor Swift, Michael Buble and Pink, with just the right amount of flavoring from artists like Gwen Stefani, U2, Sheryl Crow and Train.

Bruce Davis, Vice President/General Manager of The Q said, “We are very excited about bringing this new station to Kelowna! The Q will feature a Hot AC format, but without hip hop or electronica. We are going to present an up-tempo station with long sets of music, but we are also going to introduce some new and dynamic on-air personalities to the marketplace that will make the station fun and interactive.”

Included in those personalities is the New Q Morning Show hosted by Steve Thompson, formerly of Bob-FM in Winnipeg, who will make his debut with well known Kelowna on-air personality Heather Adams, on Monday, February 8th at 5:30am. Drew Ferreira, who moved to Kelowna from Toronto, will anchor mid-days, while Troy Scott will host weekday afternoons.

Q 103.1 – It’s All About The Music introduces itself to Kelowna residents today from 5 pm through Monday morning at 5:30 am, COMMERCIAL FREE. Give us a listen, you won’t be disappointed, it’s your station designed for you!
