Overwaitea Food Group (OFG) Helps Celebrate Opening of Nanaimo Regional Hospital Pediatric Health Clinic

Nanaimo is the latest community to receive a pediatric health clinic as part of the Overwaitea Food Group’s $20 million commitment to support Child Health BC, an initiative of BC Children’s Hospital that helps kids in BC get the care they need, closer to their homes.
With the opening of the new Pediatric Ambulatory Health Clinic at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, more than 2,500 children from Vancouver Island who would otherwise make a total of 6500 trips to BC Children’s Hospital for care each year will have local access to specialized pediatric care.
The new clinic will provide specialized diagnostic and treatment services for children and youth and is one more important step toward Child Health BC’s goal of establishing permanent pediatric care facilities in communities across BC.
