100.5 "The Peak" launches 7 year $5.29 Million Dollar Peak Performance Project at Junos: Official Fact Sheet
What:
The Peak Performance Project is a seven year, $5.29 million plan which intends to move three emerging British Columbia artists annually to a national stage, including a completed, professionally produced CD, tour support, coaching, airplay and much more. The three Peak Performers of the Year will share $275,000 in cash for sustained career development. Distribution of the money will be as follows: First place receives $150,000; second place receives $75,000; and third place receives $50,000.

Execution:
The Peak Performance Project has six different phases, they are:
1) Call For Talent.
Through 100.5 The Peak’s on-air facilities and website, groups and solo acts will be invited to submit two recordings to an independent panel of judges who will select twenty finalists from the entries. The contest will also be promoted through the facilities of Music BC and on the 20 radio and two television stations controlled by the Pattison Broadcast Group in the Province of British Columbia.
2) Peak Performance Boot Camp.
All twenty competitors will embark on a week long boot camp where they will be coached on all facets of their performance. Industry experts will work with the talent on their stage presence, their vocal skill level, their songwriting, their imaging, career management and the marketing of their music.
3) Peak Performance Live Concert Series.
The Peak Performances will be a series of four free concerts at various venues around the Lower Mainland. Each concert will highlight five artists from the twenty that took part in the Boot Camp. The Peak Performance concert series will be audio taped for playback on the radio station and video taped for playback on the station website. From those broadcasts and video playbacks, listeners of 100.5 The Peak will vote for their favourite act by text message, e-mail or telephone. At the end of the judging, the top five acts will be identified.
4) Peak Project Compilation CD.
Working with Music BC and a first rate producer and engineer, each act will record two tracks for a ten song, compilation CD that will instantly receive airplay on 100.5 The Peak and all other format compatible Pattison stations in Western Canada. The CD will be promoted on the radio, on the station’s website and on the websites of the applicable artists, if available. Each of the five artists will receive 1000 copies of the CD for their own use, whether that be for sale or for promotional use. Any profits from the sale of product will be split evenly among the contributing artists.
5) The Final Peak Performance.
The Final Peak will be a free concert featuring the top five acts that remain in the competition. The concert will be broadcast, LIVE on 100.5 The Peak. Listeners will vote for their favorites either via text message, e-mail or telephone.
6) Peak Performers of the Year!
The Top three acts will be identified as the Peak Performers of the year, with the winners announced LIVE, on the air during the final broadcast. The three Peak Performers of the year will share in the distribution of $275,000 in cash to be used for their career development.
