Urban Fare Wins Gold 2008 Canadian Independent Grocer of the Year
Urban Fare at Coal Harbour has been given national recognition by the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers (CFIG) as the Top Specialty Grocer of the Year for 2008. Each year, the CFIG evaluates Canadian specialty grocers from a consumer’s perspective and selects the very best from across the country to receive its prestigious Independent Grocer of the Year Awards. The Coal Harbour store scored high in all areas of service including cleanliness, variety and quality of fresh products, offering of unique items, merchandising, guest services and the efficiency of checkouts.
A special mention was made recognizing Coal Harbour team members for their consistent commitment to excellence in all of these areas of service. Overwaitea Food Group leaders were presented with the David C. Parsons award at a gala awards evening at Canada's premier food industry exposition, Grocery Innovations Canada, that was held in Toronto in late October.
