Save-On-Foods Opens Two New Stores

November 24, 2007 – This month, more than 300 new Save-On-Foods team members and thousands of customers celebrated the grand opening of two more new Save-On-Foods stores serving the communities of West Edmonton, AB and Surrey, BC.

Both stores, Hampton Save-On-Foods and Newton Save-On-Foods, feature many new innovations and offerings designed to make shopping easier, including a drive-thru pharmacy, departments offering quality products, great prices and value-added services.

Built to be significantly more energy efficient than previous designs, these two stores demonstrate Save-On-Foods’ established commitment to sustainability, which began nearly two decades ago and has been recognized with numerous awards. These stores continue this tradition by offering customers many in-store recycling programs and quality eco-friendly products and choices like reusable shopping bags, bulk foods and a growing selection of environmentally friendly products.

During the opening weekends, both stores continued Save-On-Foods longstanding commitment of supporting the communities they serve. The Hampton team hosted two local charities providing an awareness and fundraising opportunity for Stollery Children’s Hospital and the Edmonton Food Bank. Newton Save-On-Foods welcomed Santa and Mrs. Claus to the store for photos with kids, with all proceeds benefiting Child Health BC, a BC Children’s Hospital program which delivers care closer to home. The store also celebrated their participation in the award-winning BC School Fruit and Vegetable Snack program in which they will support Panorama Park Elementary.
