Another Win for the Overwaitea Food Group
Steve van der Leest, President of the Overwaitea Food Group, was recently named the retail recipient of the 2007 Golden Pencil Award presented by the Food Association Industry. This prestigious award recognizes the significant and worthwhile contribution recipients have made, through career dedication, to the Canadian food industry; however, Steve believes that every team member plays an important role in the success of the Overwaitea Food Group and he shares this honour with each one of them.
The Golden Pencil Award was first presented in 1957 and was established to recognize the efforts of individuals in developing and improving the Canadian food industry. A golden pencil symbolizes this award and signifies the transaction between supplier and retailer by the stroke of a pen.
Later this fall, the 2007 Golden Pencil Award will be presented to Steve at a reception hosted by the Food Industry Association.
