New Burnaby PriceSmart Foods Helps Customers Shop Smart
A new PriceSmart Foods opened at Marine Way and Byrne Road in Burnaby on March 24, welcoming customers to smart shopping, including a smart store layout, smart ways to save time and money and simply smart meal ideas, all at low prices everyday.
Within the warm and welcoming décor, customers were served by friendly, knowledgeable team members ready to help them shop smart. Features include convenient ready-to-go meals, refrigerated breakfast items in one area and the option of self-checkouts. Customers can collect and redeem Save-On-More points for hundreds of free products across the store, including always free staples like milk, bread, eggs and butter – another smart way to save.
PriceSmart Foods is Power Smart, incorporating energy efficient measures such as timed bakery ovens that only pre-heat and operate when needed, high output lighting, energy efficient heaters on glass-door freezers and a building automation system that automatically adjusts operating systems like lighting, heating and air-conditioning based on occupancy.
The Overwaitea Food Group’s tradition of community involvement, which started 92 years ago in the original store located just a few blocks away, continued at this grand opening celebration. The Burnaby-Edmonds Lions Club hosted a fundraising barbecue, which begins the store’s support of many local charitable organizations, community groups and youth sports team, as well as the local food bank and Child Health B.C., through B.C. Children’s Hospital.
