New Campbell River Save-On-Foods Opens with So Much More

Energy Efficiencies Equal Annual Energy Usage of 53 Family Home

On March 3, 2007, Save-On-Foods opened its newest Save-On-Foods store in Campbell River, B.C. The store conveniences and services include fantastic meal solutions like Rapid Chef meals-to-go, health and nutrition information, Nutrition Tours led by dietitians and an extensive line-up of organic and natural foods choices.

The Campbell River location boasts the added convenience of a drive-thru pharmacy, the only one in the community. There’s also a large selection of books, as well as a world-class deli and bakery, and extensive full-service meat, seafood and floral departments. In addition to a wide variety of local produce and grocery items, the store also features locally caught seafood, including Max Oysters from Fanny Bay, hand-peeled shrimp, fresh cod, sole, snapper and halibut from the north end of Vancouver Island.

This new store incorporates energy-efficient equipment and processes which reduce energy consumption compared to the old store. The annual energy saved by incorporating these Power Smart features into the design of the Campbell River store is enough to power 53 average family homes for a year.
