CRTC Grants Approval for Acquisition of assets from O.K. Radio Group Ltd.

November 24, 2006 (Kamloops, BC) - Jim Pattison Broadcast Group Limited Partnership President Rick Arnish is pleased to announce that the Canadian Radio Television-Telecommunication Commission (CRTC) has approved the application by Jim Pattison Broadcast Group LP to acquire the assets of:

  • CKKQ-FM Victoria, CKKQ-FM-1 Sooke and CKKR-DR-1 Victoria
  • CJZN-FM Victoria, CKXM-FM-1 Sooke and CJZN-DR-1 Victoria

The Jim Pattison Broadcast Group is one of Canada's top ten radio groups with over 11.5 million hours tuned to multiple format choices.

In making the announcement Arnish said, "We are very excited to welcome The Q and The Zone to our broadcast team. Under the leadership of Dan McAllister and the excellent staff, these stations have set themselves apart as the premiere broadcast operation in Victoria. These outstanding radio stations and our recent acquisition of Island Radio, solidifies the Pattison Broadcast Group’s commitment to Vancouver Island."

With the addition of the Victoria properties, the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group is western Canada’s largest privately owned radio and television company, operating 28 radio and 3 television stations in western Canada.
