Winnipeg Transit Picks Pattison Outdoor
January 4, 2006 (Winnipeg, MB) - The City of Winnipeg has chosen Pattison Outdoor Advertising to sell and service Transit Advertising media on Winnipeg Transit buses. The agreement, formerly held by Viacom Outdoor, is for five years and commences on January 1, 2006. "Winnipeg Transit is very pleased to welcome Pattison Outdoor as its exclusive transit advertising contractor," commented Morley Calahan, spokesperson for Winnipeg Transit.
Pattison Outdoor is no stranger to Transit Advertising in Winnipeg, being the contractor for it in the 1990s when the company was known as Hook Transit Advertising. "We are delighted to be back working with Winnipeg Transit. With the return of Winnipeg Transit Advertising to Pattison Outdoor, we represent Transit Advertising in Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg - the top three Prairie markets. This creates a regional Transit Advertising network that has not existed for a decade and creates a synergy that will be of benefit to advertisers and to the medium itself," said Doug Forsyth, VP/GM of Pattison Outdoor's Prairie Region.
The agreement covers advertising on the interior and exterior of a fleet of 500 buses that serve a market population of 650,000.
In the 15 years since Pattison Outdoor has entered the Manitoba market, it has built a strong billboard plant and developed a reputation for personal, responsive service. The addition of Winnipeg Transit Advertising to this established presence makes Pattison the dominant Out of Home supplier in the province with unmatched depth and breadth of coverage.
In addition to being the Transit Advertising provider in Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton, Pattison Outdoor sells and services Transit Advertising in Ottawa and a number of additional Prairie markets. Pattison has cross selling agreements in place for Montreal and Halifax as well, making it one of Canada's major Transit Advertising operators.
Pattison is committed to bringing its history of innovation and support for Transit Advertising to Winnipeg, giving advertisers a wide choice of great Out of Home media in the market.
